Recently two of our favorite resources have documented that cows raised within 25 miles of their birthplace tend to be healthier than those shipped across country.
Researchers are not exactly sure why, but speculate that it has something to do with how mom has built up a series of immunities to the local ailments that she passes on to the calf. Some people believe that the same idea may apply to humans.
